Blaze rips through 75-storey Dubai skyscraper

Fire ripped through a 75-storey Dubai apartment block on Wednesday, forcing police to evacuate the area in the latest of a series of skyscraper blazes in the Gulf state.

An AFP journalist saw burning debris fall from the facade of the Sulafa tower in Dubai Marina as the fire spread up at least 15 floors of the building.

Sirens wailed as police cordoned off the area.

Authorities said fire crews had evacuated the building and were working to contain the blaze. Dubai Civil Defence said no casualties had been reported.

Fires have hit several high-rise buildings in the United Arab Emirates, famed for its record-breaking skyscrapers.

On New Year's Eve a huge blaze ripped through the luxury Address Downtown Hotel, injuring 16 people just a few hours before a spectacular fireworks display nearby.

In November last year, fire engulfed three residential blocs in central Dubai and led to services on a metro line being suspended, although no one was hurt.

In February, a blaze gutted one of the emirate's tallest buildings, also in the Dubai Marina neighbourhood.

It destroyed luxury flats in the Torch tower and prompted authorities to evacuate nearby blocks.

In 2012, a huge blaze gutted the 34-storey Tamweel Tower in the nearby Jumeirah Lake Towers district. It was later revealed to have been caused by a cigarette butt thrown into a bin.

Meryl Steep Imitates Donald Trump in Orange Face Alongside Her 'Mamma Mia!'

Meryl Streep proved on Monday night that there's not a role she won't tackle.

The three-time Oscar winner put on a fat suit and lathered on the orange makeup as she channeled presidential hopeful, Donald Trump, during the annual Shakespeare in the Park Public Theater Gala at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Streep imitated Trump alongside her Mamma Mia! co-star, Christine Baranski, who was impersonating former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who's also running for president.

The performance was a twist on the song "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" from Cole Porter’s Broadway musical, Kiss Me, Kate, which is based off of The Taming of The Shrew. During the duet, Streep, as Trump, recited, "You’ll let me know why it is all the women say no."

Baranski, as Clinton, crooned back, "Brush up your Shakespeare and the women you will wow. ...Just declaim a few lines from Othello, and they'll think you're a hell of a fella."

Trump's road to landing the republican presidential nomination has been met with some contention from those in both political parties. ET spoke with Fox News' Megyn Kelly after her headline-grabbing feud with the aspiring politician. "Donald Trump is a lot of things," she said. "Even in the midst of coming after me, he can be charming. It's very confusing. One minute you're thinking, 'What?' and then you're laughing."
